ISAT Eco Marathon

This innovative project is a challenge for all of us and throughout the 2022-2023 season, we will strive to achieve all our objectives. To do this, this year we are a team of 17 students divided into 4 departments related to the needs of our prototypes. We thus have one year to build or improve small vehicles that consume as little energy as possible.

Currently, we have a petrol prototype (Mona) and an electric prototype (Lisa) built by former project members. This year, we have decided to design and build a new monohull for Lisa, finish building an ethanol prototype (Dona) and optimise Mona to be even more competitive.

Thermal Powertrain Department

Three students will work on our thermal engines. The objective will be to finish making and assembling the DONA ethanol engine prototype to get it started as well as maintaining and optimising the MONA petrol engine.

The ethanol engine would be a 100% Made in ISAT engine, a great first and would allow the following years to have a basis for the manufacturing of a more sustainable ethanol engine.

Electric Powertrain Department

Three students will focus on the optimisation of the LISA electric prototype and the reconstruction of the electric harness.

In concrete terms, their job will be to implement the GMP in the vehicle but also to design and assemble a new transmission system

We are banking heavily on this motorisation to compete.

Ground link Department

Four students will work on steering, braking and power transmission in conjunction with the various GMPs. This year, the objective is to make the braking system more reliable and to manufacture it, to modify the steering and to study better wheels for the LISA electric prototype. They will also have to design the entire ground linkage of DONA.

Chassis Monocoque Department

Six students will focus on the chassis and aerodynamics of the prototypes. The aim this year is to make a new, more aerodynamic and lighter monocoque for the LISA electric prototype. Our design work requires expertise in aerodynamics and material strength.

A body will also have to be developed for DONA.
